My morning writing space, shot with the Hipstamatic app. For the August break.
Day five
Blue things on my side table. For the August break.
As of 9:50am on day five of the August break there are 405 members and 1,171 images in the Flickr pool – it’s such a treat to be able to dip into so many worlds while I’m confined to my sofa writing my book (and by ‘writing’ i mean think-about-and-agonise. Maud had been locked in a cupboard but i can still hear her taunts. Buying ear plugs this afternoon.)
Day four
My mantlepiece, shot with my new SX-70 camera to check it works okay (seems to) with a very old pack of SX-70 blend film. For the August break
Things learned in the last 48 hours:
Just because a publisher is willing to publish your book and has given you an actual contract and deadline does not mean you will feel any more confident about a) your writing abilities, b) your ability to finish a whole book worthy of publication and c) your own worthiness. Hello Maud, I was wondering when you’d show up.
Day two
The view from my living room window at 7:34am this morning.
There will be less words here as I settle into my writing away from here, but today I’m limbering up. Stretching. Feeling a bit nervous. I’ve been going to bed an hour earlier and waking an hour earlier and my brain seems to like it, feeling more connected and fluid than it has done in a long while. I can hear whole paragraphs in my head… the words are waiting patiently for me to find them.
