The tarot is like a portal connecting you directly to your own inner wisdom.

The tarot was a mystery to me when I bought my first deck. I was an art student so I enjoyed the imagery, but those 78 cards held enigmatic messages I never quite understood. What changed all that was finding a deck I connected to on an emotional level and getting to know the cards in a way that was relevant to my every day life. Rather than seeing the cards as a way to predict my future (hint: they’re not) they revealed themselves to be these extraordinary mirrors that reflected me back to myself in clear, often playful, and always illuminating ways. I felt connected to something bigger and wiser “out there” but more importantly, I felt connected to my own inner wisdom.

Tarot has a set system we can learn, but the real magic happens when we open up to our own intuition in the mirror of the cards. Full of symbols, stories and archetypes that speak to our unconscious, the cards act as prompts to help us uncover what we’re really feeling and know deep inside. I found that as soon as I stopped trying to get it “right” according to the books, my understanding of the cards went to a whole other level.

My readings became soulful conversations with the magic I hold within me.

In this 6-week course I’m going to help you make a deep and lasting personal connection to the tarot. We’re going to commit to working with the decks we have to unravel the tarot system by number, suit and element. We’ll create our own guidebook of meanings and associations and find our own stories within each card of the Major and Minor arcana. We’ll get better acquainted with those confusing Court cards too!

There are many different ways we can tap into our intuition and tarot cards are an especially active and creative way to do so. I am emphatically NOT interested in using tarot for prediction — rather, the tarot is a beautifully elegant and wise tool when used for self-reflection. By the end of this course you’ll have an honest and supportive ally on your side.

Questions and Answers

HOW DOES THIS COURSE DIFFER FROM THE DAILY GUIDANCE COURSE?

NOTE: If you purchase the 2-for-1 bundle you have IMMEDIATE ACCESS to Daily Guidance. You don’t have to work through Daily Guidance before you start 78 Mirrors but it would be a good way to tip your toe before we dive deep into the tarot. Daily Guidance is a general (but very thorough!) introduction to tarot AND oracle cards. 78 Mirrors is the next step for anyone wanting to really get to know the tarot — Major and Minor arcana, card by card, suit by suit, numbers and elements — and bring it into their own life experiences. We will be forging our own personal connections to our decks alongside “learning the meanings” of the cards so we won’t be looking at any oracles in 78 Mirrors — this is ALL tarot!

HOW DOES THIS COURSE WORK?

The lessons in 78 Mirrors are a mix of written content + prerecorded videos (including transcripts + closed captions) and everything is hosted on a private website which you have access to for the lifetime of the course - years, in other words! The course runs “live” for six weeks and is designed for you to be able to work through the content at your own pace. You can come back to the lessons and videos beyond the six weeks, of course :-) As this is a global community you do NOT have to be online at a certain time to do this course — you’ll receive an email to remind you when a new lesson is live.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO THIS COURSE?

You’ll need at least one tarot deck you want to get to know better and a notebook or binder to use as your tarot journal (more on that when we begin!). If at all possible I’d love you to work with three tarot decks during the course — the classic Rider Waite Smith tarot, an RWS “clone” and another deck of YOUR CHOOSING. (Don’t worry if you’re not sure what a RWS clone looks like - we’ll cover that in the first week.) The third deck might well be a RWS-style deck, but you are very welcome to explore a deck that deviates from the RWS system. We’ll use the traditional Rider Waite Smith tarot system as our guide through the course but it’s good to explore other decks alongside it. You can also absolutely do this course using just ONE TAROT DECK — I’ll share plenty of photos so you can see other deck imagery!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO GET OUT OF THIS CLASS?

A solid grounding in how tarot works, what the cards mean (traditionally and more intuitively) and how they apply to your own life experiences. You’ll feel confident doing personal readings for yourself and will hopefully be inspired to bring the cards into your daily creative practice. You’ll have a true ally in the tarot. You’ll probably own more decks than you started with :-)

WILL I LEARN HOW TO GIVE READINGS TO OTHERS?

Not in the traditional sense, no. Our focus will be on creating a personal connection to our cards and using them for our own reflection and study. I don’t personally perform readings for others so I am not “qualified” to teach you how to do that, but you may find, as your connection to your deck grows, you naturally want to explore sharing your insights with others. I’ll be sharing recommendations for further study in the class.

CAN I CONNECT WITH OTHERS TAKING THE COURSE?

Yes! We will have a private Facebook where we can connect with each other and share our discoveries. Joining the group is completely optional so you won’t miss out on anything if you prefer to stay off Facebook :-)

Kind Words

“First of all, I had some wetness in my eyes this morning as I ended the last session. I have looked forward to your energy in my day over the past six weeks of the 78 Mirrors class. It was wonderful!! I realized early on that the imagery of the RWS cards is what kept me outside of tarot over the past three decades. I purchased two new decks at the start of the course: the Light Seers and the Naked Heart, both of which vibe with me for different reasons. With your help, I have reignited my love of the tarot. I also really appreciate your marketing: I have known about 78 Mirrors for a couple of years but never felt pressured to sign on. I signed on this time quite “impulsively.” In my Tarot Journey reading today the High Priestess showed up in the number two space: so apparently my impulse was spot on. I will miss my early morning lessons with you, though look forward to having your amazingly wonderful energy in my life at another time.”

“This course has been INCREDIBLE!!! I am so glad I moved past the fear I had about it and the resistance to the cost. It has been worth every single penny as this vast new world has been opened up because of your guidance. Thank you for making every email so beautiful. Your photography talent shines in each and every tarot card and spread, making each lesson such a delight to see and read. Thank you for pacing the course so well and organizing the class material so it was easy to understand. I knew absolutely nothing about tarot before we started. I think it was a brilliant idea to walk us through the Minor Arcana first with the Major to follow. I am starting over now, and re-doing the class will be easy and meaningful. Thank you for being so gentle and reassuring as we faltered along the way. I can't imagine a better instructor. I believe and trust in your experience and your offerings so very much. Your lovely style was perfect for my beginner level, assuring me this is a new and wonderful tool for self-understanding. Thank you for the light and the Light - no purple streaked hair or gothic scary imagery to process ;) Special thanks for always reminding us to trust and look to our own intuition. At 64, it is what feeds me the most, guiding me along my humble wabi-sabi path. It's a muscle and a practice I want to use often. So thank you for your encouragement to trust ourselves.”

“This course was exactly what I needed to wrap my mind around the Tarot. I had tried to learn about Tarot since I picked up my first deck over 10 years ago. I tried reading different books but none of them resonated with me. It wasn’t until some ups and downs in my own life that the Fool’s Journey began to make sense. 78 Mirrors was exactly what I needed to help me understand what my subconscious was hinting at me. Prior to your course the cards were just images. After your course, the cards had a voice, meaning, and the messages I most needed to hear. 78 Mirrors really opened up the world of tarot, my ability to understand and navigate my world in a positive way. My cards are a daily practice now and your ability to demystify the cards in a clear and inviting way made the cards even more special. Thank you for such an amazing course and for your ability to bring so much passion, love, and care into the course.”

“Your 78 Mirrors class woke me up to a deeper part of myself. Learning the tarot your way allowed me to understand its language and relate to it in a personal way. Finally! I felt connected to its symbols and archetypes. I began to uncover what I was truly feeling deep inside. I had one classic Rider-Waite deck for over nine years and never felt connected to it. I have over 50+ oracle decks that I use as part of my daily practice but I never truly connected to the tarot — until your class. For me, 78 Mirrors is what the Rosetta Stone was for Egyptian hieroglyphs. It demystifies the tarot. It allowed me to learn another language, a spiritual language, that deepened the understanding of my inner world and connection to my soul. The gift of tarot is a profound connection to our wise inner counsel — Our Muse — Our Spirit. Tarot has become a regular part of my daily dose of coffee, writing and artwork in the studio. Since class I've added over six tarot decks to my collection and I feel connected to each one. Spending time with the tarot has become an essential part of my daily practice, to me, it's a precious gift. I'm so grateful to have taken your class and to YOU for teaching me. :-) I really resonated with your comment about the cards simply "being ink on paper" — reading that was one of my favorite class moments. I can sometimes get tooooo serious and in my head, so that bit allowed me to recenter and lighten up. As a whole, the class has motivated me to accept myself more as a HSP and empowered me to create what it is I truly need to feel grounded and inspired every day.”

“Needless to say I am a big fan of this course! My tarot journey started very innocently when I came across the Wild Unknown deck and was instantly drawn to its beautiful imagery. I didn’t know much about tarot at the time so when Susannah announced her 78 Mirrors class I was all in! And it blew my mind. She takes an ancient practice from its stuffy fairground booth and brings it into the warm light of our modern age. I loved her non-sensical approach and learning to look at the cards from a point of self discovery and reflection rather than scary divination. Her emails and the PDF file you get at the end are infused with her decades of experience and filled with amazing wisdom, knowledge and gorgeous images. I also really liked how Susannah structured the course: there is a lot of material to go through and she does so in a very clear and concise manner, this would work equally well for beginners and more seasoned tarot lovers. Since 78 Mirrors I have started a little collection of beautiful decks and spending time with my cards has become a regular practice that I truly treasure. I can’t recommend this class highly enough!”

“Susannah! This course was transformational. This supportive and joy-filled course brought a renewed faith and needed sacred rhythm to my mornings. I couldn't wait to make my morning latte and sit down with your lessons and sweet voice. I have had the Wild Unknown Tarot deck for years and never really connected to it, using oracle decks way more often. This course opened a whole new world to tarot and the beautiful structure of meanings it provides. I love that tarot has such a dynamic framework and it feels like a lineage of magic that has been interpreted again and again and again. And I definitely bought one too many decks during this course :-). I can't wait to take another course with you in the future. Thank you for the beauty you are putting into the world. I am deeply grateful for your heart, your work and for the space you occupy and teach from. It's so inspiring to me!”

“Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! I’m giving you a standing ovation! I loved this class. Even though I theoretically took it before, this time around had a much much bigger impact. The videos make the class 100X better. You have imparted so much more wisdom than the written material allowed. Your voice, style, and knowledge are such a compliment to the material. Previously, I had not been as clued in to the notion of reading the card (rather than just the guidebook) and seeing what I can see. This is especially enlightening and energizing to me because so much about the RWS images leave me cold. Cold enough to not want to peer into the card to “read” it. So much yellow. So much patriarchy. So I’m happy to now see that as a base and not feel so inextricably tied to it. Thank you so much. I’m happy to hear that you have had fun with this class. I’m glad because it was clearly a lot of work. Thanks a million!”

“Your voice for the past 6 weeks has been like music in my ears, the quality, clarity and articulateness... Love the format of the videos with all the beautiful decks I want to own in time. My Tarot of Mystical Moments and the Housewives Tarot arrived the other day and gave my girlfriend a reading. I have been reading for myself these past 6 weeks with the course and reading for another felt like an easy transition; a 3 card spread for her mental, physical and emotional bodies. I looked deeper into the story the cards (Mystical Moments) were telling me and bam came all the words, my friend was very impressed. It's the only tarot course I have ever tried and am sure there are many wonderful teachers out there but I would have to give you an apple and 5 gold stars, it's been a perfect start and has given me many perspectives to look from, whether within myself or from the perceptions of the creators of the decks! For me, helps to calm the farm when am in situations I find stressful. Loving trying all the spreads. My connection to the decks have been forged and intuition enhanced and I am no longer a newbie but an eager page to learn more. Ha ha! Thank you!”

“It was a beautiful experience and way for me to fall in love with the Tarot. It definitely helped me to demystify the cards. The structure you chose was great; to go from minors, to courts, to majors. Loved diving into the meaning of the elements and numbers as well and I also studied all the symbols in the cards (sooo many!). Knowledge of the elements and forming questions with each card really made the difference in understanding and feeling them. About the Facebook group — I LOVED it. And I still do. It feels like a secret tarot family. After the course finished life took over and other things asked for my attention and energy. I couldn't find the time anymore to dive in as deep as I wanted. No more daily draws but I did do special readings during a full or new moon a couple of times. And the magic of the cards is always there, they never stop to amaze me. They are always accurate and encouraging somehow and sometimes also confronting and painful. They are indeed Mirrors. And now with the beautiful book you've made I will go through it all again, being kinder and more loving to myself and the process…”

“I was totally new to tarot — had never even held a tarot card — so the course has given me both confidence and curiosity with the cards. I really took to the 78 mirror approach. The course has given me rationale for using the cards. None hold any fear for me. The tarot is such a great tool for thinking things through. Most days I do a 3-card draw at the beginning of the day. Once a week I do my weekly plan using the tarot which ends up with me focusing much more on how I want to be rather than what I have to do. This works well for me. If I’m feeling bit down might use them to assist me to work out what’s going on, what I’m really feeling and how to perk myself up a bit. I now have a much better language/range for understanding and explaining how I feel. Thinking about it, I don’t think I have ever felt stuck or got that hopeless feeling since I started using the cards. If I feel stuck I draw some cards. They always help me to think things through. Overall — I love my decks. Love the artwork. Tarot is something I know will be with me for rest of my life. The cards just help me to think things through. They really do add another dimension.”?
