NEED THE FANCY AUTHOR BIO?
Born in 1973 in Surrey, England, Susannah Conway is the author of This I Know: Notes on Unraveling the Heart (Skirt! Books, 2012) and LONDONTOWN: A Photographic Tour of the City’s Delights (Chronicle Books, 2016), and co-author of Instant Love: How to Make Magic and Memories with Polaroids (Chronicle Books, 2012). She studied fine art photography, has a first-class degree in journalism and spent many years working as a fashion editor and journalist in London. After a devastating bereavement in her early 30s, Susannah was forced to reassess her path and found herself drawn back to photography. In 2008 she began teaching personal development classes locally using the camera as a tool for healing, drawing on everything she’d learned on her journey through loss. She now shares her courses online, and with a roster of seven creative classes and many free community projects running throughout the year, her work has attracted thousands of fans from over 50 countries around the world.
Susannah was a columnist for Project Calm Magazine (now sadly closed) and her photography, writing and commentary has been featured in many international publications including Psychologies, The Simple Things, BBC Radio London, Somerset Life, Bella Grace, Photo Pro Magazine, Artful Blogging, Mollie Makes, The Independent on Sunday and The Guardian. She also appears in several books including The $100 Start-Up by Chris Guillebeau (Random House), Art of Everyday Photography by Susan Tuttle (North Light) and Inner Excavation by Liz Lamoreux (North Light).
Susannah lives in London, England, with a calico cat called Baba.
