Oh my loves, I have something really delicious for you today!
This week marks the one year anniversary of my book baby being out in the world – one whole year! Can you believe it? To celebrate I’ve got some fun posts lined up for this week, starting with today’s Big Book Giveaway.
One of the most amazing things to have come out of the blogosphere in the last few years is a creative community of women sharing their lives and talents with the world. Whether it’s blogs, books, courses, coaching or art, I’m constantly inspired by these women and try my best to add something worthwhile to the pot, too. So rather than just giving away my book (how boring!) I wanted to put a spotlight on the books that have been birthed out of this community and give them away too. I reached out to my book-writing peers and they all replied with a resounding hell yeah! so here’s what we’ve cooked up…
For a chance to win one of the 21 26 beautiful books listed below just follow the instructions at the end of this post. BUT HERE’S THE BEST BIT! There’ll be one extra winner who’ll get bookbombed — one copy of every book will arrive through his or her door — bam!
Can you imagine it? 26 books all for you. 26 books to inspire and delight. 26 new book friends to be made.
If I wasn’t running this giveaway I would SO be entering it :)

My fav’s: Little Women, The Little Prince and Black Beauty
I had a few favourite books from my childhood, it is difficult to decide. If I had to choose, I would probably go for Red Riding Hood during my early childhood, then Anne from Green House later on and during my teenage years I discovered Bronte’s Jane Eyre.
I’m very pleased to have *pinned* the Big Book Give Away!
Just Tweeted this fantastic contest!
in all honesty could no more choose a favourite book than a favourite child or a favourite plant – i was blessed by an abundance of books including Arthur Ransome’s “Swallows and Amazons”, Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little House in the Big Woods”, and of course C S Lewis’ “Narnia” series. but who can ignore the “Billabong” books by Mary Grant Bruce or the “Silver Brumby” series by Elyne Mitchell. thank you for opening the gate to Memory Lane, I think I’ll take a longer stroll there today!
It was an adventure just scrolling down to add this comment…
I loved so many children’s books but I loved “The Magic Faraway Tree” by Enid Blyton…

My fav book as a child was Little Black Sambo. I found out the other day it is off the banned list and available again. There is nothing racist about the delightful story so why it was ever banned is beyond me. My copy was loaned to a young nephew when I was still quite you g. Unfortunately their house burned down and my book was lost.
Pinned ;)
The Black Stallion was my favorite book!
I heart books!
My favourite book from childhood was a box set of Hand Christian Anderson’s Fairy Tales. I was astonished that the tales were different to the Disney versions, like the little mermaid – when she got legs each step was like walking on broken glass or nails! Anyway – that is where I fell in love with books and my imagination flourished!
Love your blog Susannah and your book – I was captured on every word and did not want your writing to end!
Favorite books as a child were the Little House on the Prairie series…

Favorite childhood book: My Friend Flicka
I had to go pull that tattered ole’ book down off the dusty top shelf, “Lad A Dog,” by Albert Payson Terhune. My grandfather was a Bookstop club member and he even signed this book for me on the back cover. As I flip through the pages, yellow and worn, there are bright colored heart shaped stickers adorning the front page. I’ve kept this book with me all these years and it brings back the best of my childhood memories.
Cheers,
Bonnie Mieth
